Areas of Care

Twelve areas, each with its own page on how the assessment is done and what treatment involves.

Every page below sets out the same three things: how the assessment is actually done, what treatment usually involves, and what can and cannot be prescribed over a video consultation under Indian law. If you are not sure which one fits, the booking page does not ask you to choose — a first evaluation covers whatever turns out to be relevant, and that is frequently not what people arrive expecting.

Conditions treated and assessments offered

Assessment

Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry

Psychiatric symptoms alongside a physical illness, and the drug interactions that go with treating both.

What needs a visit in person

Most of this work can be done entirely online, and for most people that is the better option — no travel, no waiting room, and the appointment happens at home. There is one firm exception. Controlled medicines, which includes the stimulants most used for adult and child ADHD, cannot lawfully be prescribed over a teleconsultation under the Telemedicine Practice Guidelines, 2020. Where one of those is the right drug, a physical clinic visit is arranged on a case-by-case basis, or you are referred to a psychiatrist in her network in your own city so the prescription can be refilled where you live.

Still working out whether you need a psychiatrist

A reasonable number of people who book turn out to need a clinical psychologist rather than a psychiatrist, or both. A psychiatrist is a medical doctor and can prescribe; a therapist cannot. If the difficulty is a relationship, a bereavement or a period of stress with no change in sleep, appetite or ability to function, therapy alone is often the better first step, and you will be told so. The two-minute check-in is a reasonable place to start, and the homepage has a section comparing the two directly.

This is not an emergency service

Appointments are scheduled, not immediate. If someone is in danger right now, call 112, or Tele-MANAS on 14416 for free mental health support in Indian languages, or go to the nearest hospital. Please do not wait for an appointment.
